Display Boards
All entrants are required to submit their project on only two 24-inch x 36-inch mounted boards with the 36-inch side oriented vertically (portrait format). Lightweight foam core board is preferred for mounting. The boards should have a maximum thickness of one-quarter inch, and weigh no more than five (5) pounds. The back and the front of the competition boards must be free of any projections that might damage other entries when the boards are stored or transported.

Submissions should provide the jurors with a clear understanding of your design concept. The required drawings are intended to communicate both technical information about the design concept and an experiential sense of the finished scheme.
The following elements are required:
- One (1) plan of the site showing the relationship between the proposed design and existing features of the site at a scale of 1 inch=30 feet, oriented with Carlton Avenue at the top.
- One (1) floor plan for each housing unit type and commercial/office space at the scale of your choice.
- In addition, any diagrams, images or photographs of models illustrating how your design concept addresses the program initiatives and achieves the objectives of the competition should be included at the discretion of the entrant.
- A written statement in English of no more than 250 words clarifying the design concept and integrated into the overall composition of the presentation. The word count does not include titles and call-outs. The type must be a minimum of 12 points in size.
- The Identification Number assigned at registration is to be located in the lower left hand corner of each board in a sans-serif typeface with a one-half inch cap height.
The sponsors will review all entries for compliance with the submission and presentation requirements and will determine whether boards may be presented to the jury. The jury will not be shown, and will not review, any material beyond the two-board submission.
International Submissions
In the interest of assisting international entrants who are concerned about potential delays when sending display boards through US Customs, we have made arrangements with a certified local vendor to print and mount all international submissions. There is an additional fee of US$125 for this service. (See RULES> Registration> International Entrants)
Conforming to the Presentation Requirements described above, all international entrants must submit their presentation on two (2) copies of a CD-ROM.
Each CD-ROM must be clearly labeled:
International Submission
Identification Number (assigned at registration)
The contents of each of the two (2) CD-ROMs must be organized as follows:
- Display Boards in .PDF format (no larger than 50mb per Display Board)
- Written statement in .DOC or .PDF format, as a separate file
- All fonts used for the Display Boards
- Source file in .TIFF or .JPG or .PSD format (60cm x 90cm @ 200dpi)
All material must be in a PC-compatible format.
An A4-size hard copy proof of each Display Board is required. Proofs may go in the opaque envelope along with the other required Submission Forms.
If you choose to ship printed and mounted display boards, do not register as an International Entrant. Register as a regular Professional or Student, pay the regular entry fee and follow the general Submission and Presentation Requirements.
