Winning Submissions
Finalists will be invited to meet with the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville to discuss their ideas for Sunrise Park.
By accepting the award of Finalist, the winning teams or individuals agree to cooperate with Charlottesville Community Design Center in the development of an exhibition and companion publication using the principles developed in the competition program and demonstrated in selected competition entries. Finalists may be invited to give a lecture and/or write an article in conjunction with the event.
While no party is obligated to use any of the ideas or designs submitted, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville and Charlottesville Community Design Center reserves the right to use any of the ideas presented to promote the agenda of sustainable affordable housing with other relevant agencies towards the implementation of the project.
Publication, Exhibition, and Copyright
The designs submitted to the competition remain the property of the entrants. However, in entering the design competition, entrants grant Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville and Charlottesville Community Design Center unrestricted license to exercise the contestants' rights regarding their design submissions including, but not limited to, reproduction, preparation of derivative works and distribution of copies of the design submission, and the right to authorize such use by others.
CCDC plans to produce a publication in conjunction with an exhibition. Charlottesville Community Design Center plans to host an exhibition of prize winning entries and selected work submitted in the competition following the jury process. Entrants will be notified of any public exhibitions of their work through correspondence with the registered contact.
Return of Entries
Charlottesville Community Design Center shall retain all design submissions. Entries will not be returned and Charlottesville Community Design Center assumes no responsibility for damaged or lost competition entries. Competitors are advised to make record copies of their design solutions prior to submitting them.
Announcement, Displays and Publication of Results
By entering the competition, the Registered Entrant and all team members recognize that the competition's program is the intellectual property of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville and Charlottesville Community Design Center, and agree to credit the two organizations by name in any subsequent exhibition or publication of the project. Entrants will be credited on all online and print material that will be published by the organizers of the competition.
Modifications
The competition sponsors reserve the right at any time and at their discretion to modify or suspend any aspect of this design competition, including but not limited to the design brief, the jury process, or to waive any defects as to form or content of any competition entry or any other step in the competition or jury process.
